Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 04:51PM Chromatic would like to welcome our new Creative Director, Mario Vengoechea! Needless to say we are very pleased to have him within the Chromatic Family and look forward to creating innovative bodies of work.
Mario Vengoechea’s artistic and design leanings were nurtured from an early when his father introduced him to the world of motion graphics by way of a Commodore Amiga and a Video Toaster. Initially self-taught, he launched his career at Univision when he was just 16 years old, even prior to graduating from Art School.
Long past are the days of his working with Quantel Paintboxes and Silicon Graphics and since then he has consistently maintained a strong focus on the technological innovations within the design industry. The broad spectrum of his technical knowledge has allowed him to work with a vast array of clients, from Networks such as NBC, CBS, FOX Sports, HBO Sports, Univision and the Tennis Channel to advertising clients including Aquafresh, Nicorette, Geico and AOL.
More recently, he has played an integral role in the conceptualization and visual aesthetic of the NFL Network’s branding, where he spent 4 years as a Lead Designer. During his time with the Network, he lent his talents to many of the networks high profile graphics packages, including Thursday Night Football, as well as a total Network rebrand. He has also designed and animated award-winning promotions for the Olympic games and network news broadcasts.
A creative thinker ready to meet the new challenges emerging from tomorrow’s design environment, Mario joins Chromatic Studios as their new Creative Director. He is inspired by projects that allow for interplay between new technology and cutting edge design.
